Finalmente Netherrealm Studios nos ha anunciado que por primera vez un Mortal Kombat irá más allá de su primera temporada, con una expansión que irá más con la historia, siguiendo el final del juego, y añadirá diversas características al juego, entre ellas tres nuevos personajes: Fujin, Shiva y Robocop. Se llamará Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath y estará disponible a partir del 26 de mayo.
Además de los tres nuevos personajes, el juego añadirá el día 26 varios escenarios nuevos, y nuevos finishers como fatalities de escenario y friendships de forma gratuita al juego base.
